Tenson Shrine

Emperor Kanmu is the venerable maritime transport god for the Tenson shrine, and it is famous for the “Otsu festival” in October. The reason why it is also called “Yonomiya Shrine” is that it is enshrining the four pillars of Hikohohodemi no Mikoto, Kuninotokotachi no Mikoto, Oona Muchi no Mikoto
and Tarashinakatsuhiko no Mikoto. There are various opinion as to Hikohohodemi no Mikoto could be the fourth Amaterasu.
