Nishira Burial Mound Cluster

Burial mound number one is 46 meters in total length and 7 meters in height. It is a scallop-shaped tumulus which is an unusual type of keyhole-shaped tumulus. Since stones are covering the burial mound, it is believed to have been built in the 5th century. Through the staircases at the edge of the southeastern preservative area, you can go up to the top of the burial mound. Burial mound number two is a square tumulus with the side length of 30 meters and is located approximately 90 meters south-eastwards from burial mound number one.
