Mangetsuji Temple

It is officially called Kaimonsan Mangetsuji Temple and is a temple of the Rinzai Sect Daitokuji School. This temple originates from when a high-ranking priest, Eshin Sozu Genshin of the Yokawa area of Hieizan Enryakuji Temple constructed the Ukimido Hall for safe waterway transportation and the relief of people’s suffering. The reception hall in the precinct was built in 1754 and was designated as a registered tangible cultural property.
