Shiga Prefecture Buried Cultural Property Center

The center has been researching and studying remains, ruins and artefacts in various places within the prefecture, and has been organizing and storing excavated artefacts and research records since its opening on April 1, 1980. The center also edits the “Excavated Artefact News” and a series of the “Stories of Buried Excavated Artefacts”, and is holding a permanent exhibition in the lobby, focusing on learning a history of Shiga Prefecture through buried cultural properties so that people can deepen their understanding and caring towards buried cultural properties.
