Shidori Shrine

It is also known as Akatsuka Daimyojin, as it is located on top of the Akatsuka Burial Mound. As there are hardly any reference documents, its origin is unknown; however, the deity enshrined in this shrine is reportedly Yamatohime, the empress of Emperor Tenji. It is probably because a lore says that the person buried in the Akatsuka Burial Mound is Yamatohime. The main hall is a simple building facing south with the ikkensha-nagare-zukuri style [which is characterized by the asymmetrical gable roof and two front columns approximately 1.8 meters apart].
