Bashō’s hermitage
The tearoom right next to the single-storied house Tsukimi-tei is Bash_’s hermitage. It is said that in the Genroku era (1688-1704), Bash_ Matsuo was staying in Genj_ an and he often visited the Ishiyamadera temple.
