Unjuji Temple

It is a temple related to Fujiwara no Hidesato famous for the extermination of the gigantic centipede in Mt. Mikami. It was built in October 14, 1408 for the memorial service for Hidesato by Gamo Takahide, the 14th generation descendant of Hidesato and the lord of Komikado Castle in Gamo District. The temple is revered as the guardian temple of the Seta no Karahashi Bridge, and has treasured articles related to the extermination of the gigantic centipede and Mukade Kuyo-do, a monument to pray for the centipede to rest in peace.
