Stone Wall at Former Lakeside of Lake Biwa

An approximately 50-centimeter-high stone wall can be seen between the rail track and the lakeshore road from Keihan Ishiba Station to Shimanoseki Station. It is the upper part of the stone wall of the Lake Biwa lakeside and indicates that the water used to reach there before it was reclaimed. There are still stone steps to go down from the stone wall which reminds us that people used to go down to the shore for washing, etc.
