Star Festival Grand Prayer Ceremony

In ancient times, people read their fortune through the stars. They read their luck of the coming year from the combination of the star designated to their birth year and the star of the current year.
A Goma fire ritual is held in front of Fudo Myo-o in the Main Hall on the day before the beginning of the spring, the new year in the old calendar. Prayers are offered to avert calamities and to welcome good luck so that everyone can have a good combination of the stars.
