Ennichi Memorial Service of Acala (Fudo Myo-o)

Acala or Fudo Myo-o is a wrathful deity who leads people with difficulty in enlightening to follow the teachings of Buddhism with a fierce look. He cuts earthly desires with his treasured sword in his right hand, entangles and snatches people with deluded minds with a coiled rope in his left hand, and consumes all sins with flames on his back.
Every 28th of the month is the day of a special relation with Fudo Myo-o.
A Goma fire ritual is held in front of the Fudo Myo-o in the Main Hall from 10 a.m., and prayers for averting calamities, evil and enemies are given.
January the 28th, the first day of the memorial service of the year is called Hatsu-Fudo, and December the 28th, the last day of the memorial service of the year, is called Shimai-Fudo.
