Shijimi Shell mound Monument

Monument to commemorate the ruins “Ishiyama shell mound” from the early Jōmon period in the Kinki region. From the shell mound area, human bones, stone tools, bone tools as well as Jōmon pottery have been excavated along with prehistoric settlements.
