Murasaki Shikibu’s Memorial Tower (Three-Storied Pagoda of Hōkyōintō)

It is standing right next to the scripture house, side by side with the haiku slab of Matsuo Basho, and it is said to be the memorial tower of Murasaki Shikibu. It is an unusual Hōkyōin pagoda
with three pagodas, Buddha statues are highlighted on the four sides of the first layer, and it has a gemstone instead of a pagoda finial. The height is 2.6 meters and it is a work from the Kamakura period.
