Ishiyamadera Tsukimi-tei
It is said to have been built for Emperor Go-Shirakawa’s Imperal visits, and one can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Seta River while looking at the Lake Biwa. It is a building built with the kengai-zukiri method that stands protruding on a cliff, with the overhanging cliff covered with a plate, and it looks like a tower with a hakama-goshi. After rebuilding and repairing it became as it is today. It is often depicted in the drawing of “The Eight Views of Ōmi”, and many people enjoy the harvest moon every year during the “Akatsuki Festival” that takes place the day of the harvest moon.
