Constructed in 1906, Nagara Shrine’s two-storied tower gate is a magnificent work from the Meiji era due to strictly adhering to the architectural style and classical tradition of the Muromachi era, 1338-1573.
While being averagely sized the sangen-ikkomon gate, a 3×2-bay gate of an eight-legged style, the Irimoya style roof, half-hipped roof, with a hinoki bark thatching creates a beautiful sense of proportion and curved lines.
